VR developer and publisher Buffalo Buffalo has announced its cozy VR birdwatching game Birdseed VR. Birdseed VR is currently taking part in the ongoing Steam VR festival, and the developer has taken this festival as a platform to announce that Birdseed VR is also now coming to Steam VR. The Steam VR festival is presented by The VR Forever Awards, and it will remain live until September 23, 2025. If you want to try out Birdseed VR or any other Steam VR title, you can do so throughout the weekend.

Birdseed VR was previously announced exclusively for Meta Quest VR, and this is the first chance outside of PAX West for players to experience real bird behavior, calls, and movements of the birds featured in the game. The game offers a unique, cartoony charm, and the photo mode in it is designed around real bird behavior. Each species in the game has distinctive calls, movements, and flight patterns.
In the game, you will get to explore lush forests while completing quirky daily quests and filling your journeys with everything there is to know about different bird species. With co-op gameplay, you can bring friends together on your adventure as well. With the game’s in-game camera, you can immortalize the chunkiest, cutest birds that come your way. It feels just like real life as you aim, shoot, print, and record the birds you find in the forest.
Your journal records everything for you, and also the professionalism of a shot. You can try to aim for a 5-star shot by using the right tools. You have a pair of binoculars with you, which helps you to zoom in on the subject bird and choose the right lens for the shot. The developers have worked hard to keep the bird models and vocalizations as close as possible to the real-life counterparts.

The VR Forever Awards are put together by the VR studio and publishing label Creature and Future Friends Games. This year, it features over 130 titles spanning different genres.
