You Can’t Buy the Metro Exodus Artyom Edition, But You Can Win It

Metro Exodus Artyom Edition

Metro Exodus is set to launch next month for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and like many other big releases, it will come in both standard and Deluxe Editions. However, ahead of it’s launch, Deep Sliver has announced a special collectors Metro Exodus Artyom Edition, that can’t be bought but can be won.

The Metro Exodus Artyom Edition is so rare, there are only 10 versions of it been made. This super limited edition contains a certificate of authenticity by Dmitry Glukhovsky and Andrew ‘Prof’ Prokhorov, creator and director and co-founder at 4A Games.  All of the ten editions will feature a selection of Artyom’s equipment, and includes a fully functional Nixie watch.

Deep Silver says the remaining nine will be given away to fans through a series of promotions. These will be revealed on the game’s official website.

We worked with the renowned craftsmen at DB Props, based in the world-famous Shepperton Studios to source and manufacture the ultimate collection for Metro fans,” said Huw Beynon, head of global brand management at Deep Silver.

Each item is either an authentic real-world object or has been hand-made to re-create 4A’s original designs. We knew we could never do Artyom’s signature Nixie watch justice with a replica; so we decided to make them for real.

The whole package comes in a steel ammo crate and will contain the following items detailed below:

  • Fully-functional, hand-made Nixie Watch
  • Gas Mask and Filter
  • Working Bullet Lighter made from a decommissioned shell
  • Hand-made steel Spartan dog tag to be engraved with the recipient’s name
  • Leather map case and map of the Aurora’s journey
  • Personalized Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Dmitry Glukhovsky and Andrew ‘Prof’ Prokhorov

If you have not kept up with what Metro Exodus is, it is set in the year 2013, a quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East.

Thousands of kilometers from the ruins of Moscow, Artyom and his companions discover what seems like paradise – a lush, green valley, teeming with life. But if their years in the Metro have taught them one thing, it is this: The night brings terror. And here, terror has a new face…”

It is an epic story driven first person shooter game by 4A Games that blends deadly combat with stealth and exploration. All this in a survival horror theme in what is arguably one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. You get to explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.

Metro Exodus launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 15 February, 2019. In addition, there is a new story trailer dropping in today 8 February.
