Epic Games Giving Free Save the World to Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle Buyers

Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle

Epic Games teamed up with Microsoft to launch a special Xbox One S Fortnite bundle last September. The game code stated that the console will come out with the complete Fortnite game however when the bundle was launched, the vouchers were only giving players Battle Royale mode which is already free for everyone.

Fans were not happy because according to the box, the bundle was supposed to come with the complete game Fortnite along with some other digital goodies which included 2000 V-bucks, an exclusive Fortnite: Battle Royale cosmetic set themed after Xbox brand and a full game download of Fortnite.

The full game of Fortnite consists of two game modes, a free Battle Royale mode and a paid Save the World PvE mode. Epic Games had earlier announced that Save the World will go free for everyone before 2018 ends but it did not happen so the plan has been delayed into 2019. The Xbox One S bundle was also marketed as containing the full game.

Recently Epic Games has announced that since the console was launched with only Battle Royale download codes, they will give the paid PvE Save the World mode to all players who redeemed the special edition Eon Bundle. If someone purchased the Eon Bundle and Save the World campaign separately, they will be given 2000 V-Bucks for free.

This was announced after players raised this issue on Reddit where they were angry about the box stating complete download of Fortnite but instead they were only getting Battle Royale mode for free which was already for free to download for everyone. This did not make sense anyway because there was no point adding a free game and giving it out with a bundle.

Epic Games issued their official statement which stated

We agree that the messaging on the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle was unclear and so will be granting free access to Save the World for those who purchased the bundle, we are going to begin identifying players who have claimed the Eon Bundle and will be granting their accounts access to Save the World.

This shows that Epic Games agree that it was a marketing mistake however they have agreed to compensate all players which is a great gesture. Currently, the exact time was not released but Epic Games state that they will rolling out the free game mode to all players soon after they are done with their homework.

If you purchased the Xbox One S Fortnite bundle, then you do not have to do anything. Make sure that you have redeemed the Fortnite code and the exclusive Eon content code. Epic Games will contact you themselves and give you access to Save the World free of cost.

Let us know about what do you think of Epic Game’s decision to give all buyers free Save the World after the marketing mistake.
