It feels only yesterday that we got the brilliant WRC 8 which we termed as the best WRC game ever made in our review and now here we are, reporting on new gameplay videos of WRC 9, the next game in the franchise. NACON and KT Racing have released a brand new video of the newly announced WRC 9 and it showcases New Zealand Rally which is one of the most iconic locations in the WRC calendar.
The new gameplay video showcases the brilliant New Zealand Rally which is making a comeback to the FIA World Rally Championship after a whopping 7-year break. The iconic rally is painstakingly being recreated by KT Racing in order to deliver one of the most authentic rally experiences to players and fans of the sport. New Zealand Rally is one of the three brand new rallies to make their way into the WRC calendar this year.
Apart from New Zealand Rally, Safari Rally in Kenya and Rally Japan are also coming to WRC, and fans and players of WRC are eagerly anticipating to see. The newly released gameplay footage shows us the tough challenge New Zealand Rally brings to the table including a rugged coastline and wildlands around Auckland in the heart of the North Island. Roads in New-Zealand are amongst the most beautiful and the most appreciated in the Championship’s history. For its fast chains of turns and a sustained pace rhythm, along with breath-taking landscapes, Rally New-Zealand truly offers a particular experience. A long preparation work allowed us to replicate, as closely as possible, the luxuriant vegetation, the light and unique ocean views, as well as the road’s topography and surfaces, mainly composed of gravel. We’re convinced that players will enjoy taking up this challenge as much as we did in WRC 9.
Further details about the game and the other rallies included in the game will be shared in the future. WRC 9 is slated for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in September 2020. The game will also release later on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
