In this World War Z Character Class Guide, we will show you all the character classes there are in the game, and what they specialize in. In total, there are 6 character classes that you can choose from.
Since there are various character classes that you can choose from, various characters can diversify your group with teammates or allies. With each character your teammate chooses to be, you all play a big role in working together to take down multiple zombies effectively.

World War Z Character Class Guide
Below are all the character classes in the game, and what you can expect their gameplay to be like in World War Z.
Slasher
This character class is all about players who like to be up close to the action. The slasher shines when it is within melee range from zombies, and can really deal some massive damage to enemies.
The slasher character class specializes in melee Blades and Tasers to take down the zombies. While it is not only about slashing, your first perk in this class gives you a Stun Gun and a Compact SMG. Both are close-range weapons, but that is what Slasher is all about.
In addition, your first perk also allows your melee attacks to hit a couple of enemies instead of just one, while also getting less tired with all the swinging and slashing attacks. While not the best character class, Slashers do come in handy zombies get too close for comfort.
Hellraiser
This character class is all about explosions. Hellraiser specializes in grenades, C4 bombs, and many other items for Crowd Control. Hellraiser is also a very strong character that has high speed. It makes sense as Hellraisers would want to escape the area of the blast as quickly as they can when activating a bomb.
Hellraisers are necessary if you are playing with a group. Since we are talking about swarms after swarms of enemies, it is best to have them taken out with one big blow. And this is where Hellraiser is best at.
Since the Hellraiser class is all about explosive weaponry, its perks are all focused on explosives, crowd control techniques, high ammo, and explosive weapons. Choosing this character class will immediately give you the Demoman Perk that allows you to carry a C4, a shotgun, and a Hailstorm MGL right from the start of the game.
Medic
As you can guess by the name, the Medic is all about providing health items to yourself or your teammates if need be. Since this is a zombie survival game, you need a medic around for when times go from bad to worse.
As expected, this class is all about providing healing and boosting abilities to teammates. However, it is not something you are required to have always around if your squad is good enough at the game. Still, if you are just beginning with World War Z, it is best to have the Medic around while you get accustomed to the dangers of the game.
The perks of this class focus on supportive abilities. The first perk you have in this class is the Booster Shot Perk which gives you a small Stim Pistol, Compact SMG, and a MedKit. Even you if decide to use the medkit on your teammate, you will get 25% health regeneration as well.
Fixer
This character class is also supportive, but it offers your teammates and yourself more ammunition rounds to replenish for themselves. If you find yourself running out of ammo, then Fixer is the best character to have in your squad.
Running out of ammo is undeniably a situation that you do no want yourself to be in. Especially if many zombies are coming your way. With more amounts of ammunition in store, you can confidently take down more zombies without having to deplete your stash so quickly.
The Fixer comes with Perks that replenish ammo while also increasing them. The Mule Perk in this class gives you a Supply Bag and a Scout Rifle, while also increasing the ammo of your teammates by 10%.
Exterminator
A swarm of zombies in this game is no joke. There at times are hundreds of zombies running towards you, and you want to deal with them quickly. This is where the Exterminator character class comes in very handy. It is best in taking out a swarm of zombies with its high damage-dealing attacks.
Firearms are good, but not so good in taking out multiple enemies, especially if they get too close for comfort. Exterminator loves fire and deals fire damage with fire weapons which burn multiple zombies and take them down for good.
The first Perk that you get in this class gives you a Molotov and Shotgun. In addition, it also boosts your damage to zombie swarms by 25%.
Gunslinger
This character class is all about specializing in weapons. Especially guns that have a high rate of fire to spray down zombies. This class is the best in the game, and by default should be your first pick. It is very well-balanced and gives you an easy gameplay experience.
The Perks in this class are focused on weapons and ammo. The first two perks that you get in this class give you a Frag Grenade, and a Compact SMG as well as a reduction to weapon recoil and keeping stable lock on targets even while moving.
The other perk allows your Frag Grenades to kill 25% more of the zombies that you intend to eliminate.
