Blizzard has announced that the upcoming expansion Shadowlands for World of Warcraft has been delayed and will not release on the previously announced release date of October 27, 2020. The expansion will now release sometime before the end of 2020 however a confirmed release date has not been announced at this point.

As announced on the official Twitter account of World of Warcraft, the Executive Producer states that the additional time will allow the developer to further polish the title and work on balancing and endgame which has been one of the biggest challenges for the game since Shadowlands in ‘one of their most intricate expansions’ for the title ever. He further details that part of this delay is also due to the fact that the developers had to work from home due to the whole COVID-19 pandemic.
