Wings of Heroes Adds Jet Campaigns, Time Trial Mode, and Overhauled Progression

Wings of Heroes

Developer Ten Square Games has announced that its mobile air combat game Wings of Heroes has received a major update that expands its campaign system with modern jet aircraft, introduces a new Time Trial mode, and continues a broader overhaul of the game’s progression and economy.

The latest update builds on changes introduced throughout the second quarter of 2026, as the developers shift the game beyond standalone multiplayer battles toward a more structured progression system featuring PvE campaigns, limited-time events, and new gameplay modes.

One of the biggest additions is the first time-limited jet campaign, which lets players fly the F-16 through a dedicated series of missions. Unlike the game’s traditional World War II-inspired battles, jet campaigns provide players with a specific aircraft for the duration of the event while introducing faster, modern aerial combat. Other jets also appear as enemy aircraft throughout the campaign.

Another new feature is Time Trial, a single-player mode focused on flying precision rather than combat. Players must navigate a course of checkpoints as quickly and accurately as possible before time runs out or their aircraft crashes.

The update also introduces Team Deathmatch, allowing players to respawn after being shot down and continue fighting until one team reaches the target score.

Alongside the new game modes, the developers have continued refining the game’s progression systems with several notable additions:

  • Campaign System: PvE missions built around historical scenarios, with permanent and limited-time campaigns offering unique objectives and rewards.
  • Aircraft Rarity: Planes are now divided into Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary tiers to make progression and rewards easier to understand.
  • Economy Rebalance: Blueprint distribution, unlock costs, and upgrade progression have all been adjusted to create a smoother progression curve.
  • Larger Battles: Support for expanded match formats, including 10v10 battles, gives the developers more flexibility for future events.
  • Commendations: New in-match accolades reward actions such as double and triple kills, adding more recognition during battles.

While Wings of Heroes remains centered on World War II aerial combat, the introduction of jet-focused campaigns marks the first time modern aircraft have appeared in the game. For now, these jets are limited to campaign content as the development team evaluates the new format.

Wings of Heroes is currently available on iOS and Android stores, and the new update is now live for all players. You can update the game to its latest version to access all of the new content.
