Apex Construct is a new VR game and it seems to be selling a lot every since Apex Legends came out. The game not only sounds similar to Apex Legends but the logo is similar as well. People seem to have mistaken Apex Construct VR game for Apex Legends and that is why it has got a lot of sales.
Andreas Juliusson, marketing and communications manager at Fast Travel Games, released a statement regarding the matter and it is as follows:
As you are most likely aware, the free-to-play, Battle Royale game Apex Legends was released last week. Not only does the name resembles our own VR game Apex Construct, but the logos are also strikingly similar (ours came first though!)
Apex Construct is a single-player, action-adventure VR game which is exclusive to EA Origin on PC and you can also play it on PSVR. There is a Steam page for people that want to try the game before they buy it but it has been getting a lot of traction from people, especially in China.
Juliusson mentioned that people who have bought the game by mistake will be refunded. You might find it a bit odd to be paying for a free-to-play game.
Apparently people are prepared to buy what they think is Apex Legends for $29.99, even thought it’s a free-to-play title… Most likely these units will be refunded, but our books look pretty good at the moment,
While Fast Travel Games is not the one at fault here, it is getting tons of negative reviews from people that have bought it by mistake. The Steam community is looking into the matter and hopefully, the developer will find a solution soon.
