Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Announced, Coming in 2020

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

The 2004 classic cult role-playing game is finally getting a sequel as Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is officially happening. Unlike the first game, the sequel is set in Seattle and players will step in the role of a vampire in the ‘World of Darkness’ role-playing universe and will strive to survive a deadly war between vampire clans.

Brian Mitsoda is leading the narrative design on the sequel however this time the developer behind the title is Hardsuit Labs which is an independent studio. Paradox Interactive will publish the title which owns the license to World of Darkness. The title was announced at a press release where Mitsoda said that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is:

A true successor guided by the people who knew what made the original so special.

Apart from the basic introduction of the title and its reveal, not a long of information was revealed about the title. The game will feature similar game mechanics than the first title and will bring back the fast-paced melee combat from the first title back. The player will also have the signature vampire powers to help them in the combat.

The original title received very good reception when it was released however the franchise saw many titles release later but they were not up to the par. Substandard titles even led to some studios losing their rights to the franchise.

The sequel looks promising and since we have people working on it who worked on the original title, we can be sure that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is going to be a proper sequel which the first title truly deserves. More details about the game will be revealed in the coming days.
