Three New Star Wars Movies Announced by Disney Starting 2022

Disney New Star Wars

With the Skywalker Saga coming to a close with this year’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney has announced three more Star Wars movies for the future. This shows that Disney has no plans to end the Star Wars franchise just yet because the new movie schedule shows movies all the way up to 2026 which is surely going to make the fans very happy.

After this year’s release, the franchise will take a long break but it will return later in 2022 with a brand new movie. The three planned movies for Star Wars are slated for release in 2022, 2024 and 2026. This means that fans will need to wait for a little while for their favorite franchise to return but once it does, we will get three new movies.

Further details on the brand new Star Wars movies are not known at this point but we can always speculate as to what will Disney plan on making after ending the current saga. With Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox and the new schedule released for the Avatar movie franchise, we can certainly see a pattern here.

Disney wants to alternate between Star Wars and Avatar each year which means that if one year we are getting a new Avatar movie; the next year we will get a new Star Wars movie. This will continue all the way until 2027 to which the last Avatar movie is currently planned for. The release time for all these releases is also set right around the Christmas season which means that Disney plans on scoring some big figures with every release.

Recently we also got to know that the Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe is starting from 2020 as well and the first movie of Phase 4 will premiere after 10 months of Spider-Man: Homecoming’s release. In terms of movies, the next few years are going to be huge as we are seeing some of the best movies getting lined up for them.
