THQ Nordic has released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming RTS The Valiant showcasing the loyal companions that you will be fighting alongside when the game comes out. Dubbed ‘Companions’, the latest trailer for The Valiant is a showcase for the playable characters of The Valiant and their unique skills. Check out the trailer below before we jump into additional details:
The trailer highlights three of the key characters from the game’s main story which include the likes of Konrad who is a skilled archer and a loyal huntsman, Grimhald, the captain of the Raven Company, and Theoderich von Akenburg who is the protagonist of the story. Each hero in the game has special abilities and the trailer showcases the strengths of each of these heroes. Konrad commands Theoderich’s archers and is a master hunter with his bow. If he sets his mark on his target, they do not escape with their life. His choice of weapons includes a crossbow or a simple bow.
His crossbow can lay down traps for enemies while his bow can rain down arrows on large groups of enemies with the Volley special ability. Grimhild is the captain of the Raven company which is a group of mercenaries, and she specializes in Two-Handed Spears or using a smaller Spear alongside a Shield to deflect incoming blows. Her Two-Handed Spear can be thrown as a Javelin that deals massive damage while the Spear & Shield allows her to use the special ability Hedge Formation which acts as a defensive as well as an offensive move for her.
Next, we have Reinhard Von Kempten who is the Lord of Kempten and a knight who has yet to lose a battle. He has proven his loyalty as the most experienced knight in the Warband many times. He prefers using a Two-Handed Axe or sometimes combines his mighty Axe with a Shield. He can provoke his enemies using his Axe & Shield while his 2-Handed Axe is great for insulting his enemies. Next up, we have Gascoigne du Corban who is a young French Knight who comes with his fiery spirit and an eagerness to prove himself. He prefers using simple weapons such as a sword or a lance.
He can use his special ability Trample when he is using his sword to run over all enemies in his path and if he is using Ram, he can easily Ram into enemies and deal massive damage to enemy groups. Finally, we have Theoderich von Akenburg who is the main character of The Valiant. He is a former Crusader Knight of the Knights Templar and currently, he is the leader of the Warband. He uses a sword or a mace as his primary weapon. His sword comes with the ability Devotion while he can knock down enemies if he is using his mace.
The Valiant is slated for a PC release via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG and you can add the game to your wishlist right now on all three platforms. Additional details about the game will be released later however you can check out the original announcement trailer of the game in the meantime.
