Publisher Modus Games and developer Rain Games have announced that their upcoming title Teslagrad 2 will get its first Steam Next Fest demo in February. Teslagrad 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the hit indie game Teslagrad and fans looking for the sequel will be able to jump into the new game’s demo next month. Apart from the Steam Next Fest demo, the developer also revealed the official key art of the upcoming title.
Released back in 2013, Teslagrad managed to sell over 2+ million units and now ten years later, we are getting the sequel that should have arrived years ago. Peter Wingaard Meldahl, CEO of Rain Games and the lead on the project comments:
I have spent these last years of development dreaming of magnetic powers and steampunk Vikings. I am very happy with Teslagrad 2 as a sequel and am excited for players to get their hands on it this coming month!
Teslagrad 2 will feature the familiar feeling of satisfying traversal and world at display that fans of the franchise are used to. After a decade of new thoughts, ideas, and lessons, the developer has plenty of surprises hidden in the store for players as well. The whole world of Teslagrad has grown and changed and the game will be even more accessible to new players as well as those returning from the first game. In Teslagrad 2, you will play as Lumina, a hero known for players of Rain Games’ earlier title World to the West.
She was last seen traveling to her home on an airship and Teslagrad 2 picks up the story right after she is shot down in an uncharted land. During her journey, you will see her harness the forgotten art of Teslamancy: wielding electromagnetic abilities to solve perplexing physics-based puzzles as she explores winding caves and industrial chambers as she outwits the mysterious enemies and traps awaiting her throughout the journey. The game will also feature hand-drawn visuals which use pastel and muted tones to bring vistas of untamed nature life along with steampunk visions of Old Europe inspired by Scandinavian culture and folklore.
A Steam page for Teslagrad 2 is now live and you can head over to it to add the game to your wishlist and await the first magnetic demo which will arrive on February 6, 2023. Additional details about the game will be revealed at a later stage. Teslagrad is slated for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One this Spring.
