NACON and Cyanide Studio have lifted the curtain on the next chapter in the Styx saga with a new narrative trailer for Styx: Blades of Greed, offering the clearest look yet at where the sharp-tongued goblin’s latest misadventure is headed. The stealth-focused action game is set to launch on February 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Styx is Cyanide Studio’s long-running stealth franchise, and Blades of Greed marks the release of the third game in the franchise. The journey began with the release of Styx: Master of Shadows in 2014, followed by Styx: Shards of Darkness in 2017. The franchise is following Styx’s infiltration into a deadly universe, which is heading towards a war between Orcs, Humans, and the Elves. Styx is equipped with a multitude of tools and abilities that aid him in blending in with the environment and taking out enemies much bigger than him from the shadows.
Styx: Blades of Greed Reveals Its Past Ahead of February 2026 Launch
Picking up shortly after the events of Styx: Shards of Darkness, the story finds Styx on the run once again, this time leaving behind the Dark Elf city of Korrangar after sabotaging High Priestess Lyssril’s Amber operations. His escape takes him to the skies aboard a ramshackle zeppelin crewed by fellow outcasts, but freedom is short-lived. A new prize has emerged: Quartz, a volatile resource powerful enough to tip the balance of a world already edging toward all-out war.
Quartz sits at the heart of Blades of Greed’s conflict, with Styx racing to secure it before the Inquisition, a fanatical human faction bent on eradicating other races, can claim it for themselves. That pursuit pulls players across the continent of Iserian, a land defined by political tension, decaying civilizations, and the long shadow of Amber corruption.
The journey spans a wide range of locations, from the floating ruins of Akenash, once the center of the World Tree, to The Wall, a heavily fortified symbol of human dominance guarded by elite soldiers and inquisitors. Further afield, the Turquoise Dawn jungle offers a more primal threat, where the ongoing human-orc war has turned the environment itself into a lethal obstacle course of hostile wildlife and dangerous terrain.
Styx won’t be working alone this time. Companions such as Helledryn, Djarak, and Wren join the goblin’s crew, each bringing their own questlines. Helping these characters doesn’t just flesh out the world, but also feeds directly into progression, unlocking new upgrades, tools, and stealth abilities that expand how players can approach infiltration and combat encounters.
On the gameplay side, Cyanide continues to emphasize player freedom and creative problem-solving. Vast vertical spaces can be navigated using new tools like a grappling hook and glider, while expanded powers and abilities support multiple playstyles—from ghost-like stealth to more aggressive, risk-heavy approaches. As ever, success depends on observation, timing, and staying one step ahead of the Inquisition’s traps and patrols.
The developer has also revealed that since its first game, over 2 million players have stepped into the franchise and experienced Styx’s journey one way or the other. Styx: Blades of Greed launches February 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
