Square Enix’s new title Left Alive does not seem to be doing too well. Square Enix has now blocked the streaming of the game in Japan, being completely disabled for Japanese players.
The game is already being offered in heavy discounts in Japan just days after its launch. The game has seen many negative reviews, leading it to a 1.5 star rating. Left Alive was released just 4 days ago on 28 February, with no issues with streaming. The only exception was that all event scenes were blocked and disallowed to stream.
Due to the blockages, players who want to stream Left Alive of YouTube are prompted with an error that says the game is not authorized to stream. Whether this trend will remain after the game launches in the wester markets is yet to be found.
In an apparent damage control by Square Enix, the studio has blocked all streaming of the game in Japan. This comes before the company has even showed the game to the western audience. However, that has not worked as Square Enix not only failed to prevent the word getting out to the North American and European audiences, but also angered many Japanese games who wanted to stream the game.
Amid the negative reviews and the bad rating that the game got, the game has been selling 44% off on Amazon Japan with prices down from 8,964 Yen to 5,050 Yen, in just three days after launch.
If you are wondering why the game is getting negative reviews, its because of fans have been criticizing over the game visuals along with mechanics. Most of the negative feedback ranges from difficulty to poor design, issues with control. Character motions and graphics.
Do you think the game will hold up when it releases in the western markets? The game launches on 5 March for PlayStation 4 and PC. Let us know in the comments below.
