Beyond the workshop integration, Vertical Slice 1.1 brings several gameplay refinements. Grid Pasting Mode has received an overhaul, featuring a projection preview, a bounding box effect, and a ‘Pasting’ banner for better visual feedback. Additionally, pivot controls have been refined, with automatic setting and highlighting of pivot points to improve accuracy during construction.
Other improvements include advanced world settings for all save files and performance enhancements when pasting and placing grids. These changes aim to provide a smoother, more intuitive building experience, ensuring you can focus on creativity without technical hurdles.
Space Engineers 2 offers a vast open-world sandbox where engineering and exploration collide. Set in the uncharted Almagest system, you can construct everything from intricate starships to massive space stations. The game encourages both creativity and survival, challenging you to navigate the dangers of deep space while expanding your technological prowess.
The game’s development follows a detailed roadmap, with future updates promising even more ambitious features. Upcoming additions include advanced modding tools via the VRAGE HUB, explorable planets, volumetric water, and a survival mode that introduces new challenges for engineers. You can also anticipate the inclusion of multiplayer, NPCs, and a story campaign that will add depth to the sandbox experience.
Space Engineers 2 is currently available on PC in Steam Early Access.
