Wales Interactive has released a brand-new trailer for their upcoming title Sker Ritual at Gamescom 2022. The latest trailer dubbed ‘Meet the Elites’ features teleporting Banshee, the hard-headed Mariner, the invisible Phantom, and the pyro juggernaut Blazeslinger. These are the elites that you will be seeing in Sker Ritual when the game comes out in October in Early Access. Check out the new trailer below before we jump into additional details:
Sker Ritual is a spiritual successor of Wales Interactive’s previous title Maid of Sker and is changing the overall concept of the title by becoming a round-based co-op horror First-person shooter. Sker Ritual is designed for playing solo or up to 4-player online. Depending on the number of players in any round, the number of Sker Island’s hordes is adjusted automatically to present a fair challenge to all players. The game also brings a lot of new enemies of different shapes and forms.
Apart from The Quiet Ones, Sker Ritual will also have new elites and each of these elites come with their own unique set of abilities that force you to change up your style, and locations or even resort to your teammates for help in taking them down. Players will come face-to-face with many new enemies and some older faces as well. Another major aspect of Sker Ritual is character customization. You will be able to customize your character with in-game masks which will be inspired by all forms of horror including fold, gothic, zombie, science fiction, supernatural and more.
You will also be able to taunt your enemies with unique voice lines and switch out your dynamic menu screens with various environments from the island to keep it a personalized touch. Each map will have different The Laughing Policeman’s Booths which will sell you gun upgrades, ammo, and more. For a chance of a higher base level, you will also be able to gamble for a random weapon or just go with the stock ammo. It all boils down to your personal preference. As you use weapons more and more, you will increase their ranks and unlock different upgrades for them. The booth will also offer various bonus buffs and enhancements for you to use.
A unique perk system is also part of the game called Miracles which plays a vital role in character creation in the game. Additional details about the Miracles will be revealed at a later date. Sker Ritual is slated for its early access launch on PC via Steam this October. After its Early Access launch, the game will first release fully on PC and a console release will follow up later in Q1 2023. You can also add the game to your Steam Wishlist if it sparks your interest. We also reviewed the original title Maid of Sker so you can check out our review as well.
