The Sinking City Frosty Welcome

Bigben and Frogwares have announced that their upcoming adventure investigation game The Sinking City has been delayed by three months. Earlier the title was supposed to come out on March 21, 2019 but now the release date has been pushed into June to give the game more breathing room when it comes out.

The developer states that they want to release the title in a less crowded period. They also want a little more time to polish the game further more so that the players get the best possible game experience. For these reasons, the game has been pushed back three months to ensure a more refined product is delivered at release.

You can check out the video below in which Frogwares explains the reason behind the delay.

Earlier we got to see how the investigation system works in The Sinking City since it makes up a vital part of the gameplay. The game gives players complete freedom on how they want to approach each situation. There is very little guidance and players are on their own to solve the mysteries and scenarios.

The Sinking City is set in 1920s and players play as Charles Reed who is a private detective. Reed visits Oakmont, Massachusetts to investigate the reasons behind a supernatural flood and tries to unearth the cause of it. Reed has different special abilities that will help him solve different puzzles and mysteries.

Players will also use an in-game tool called Mind Palace where they will submit all the clues found along with their hypothesis and the tool will help them decide whether they are on the right path or not. At the end, players will be left to accept the consequences of their choices. Check out the game trailer below.

The Sinking City is coming out on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 27, 2019.
