Publisher Team17 and developer Fika Productions have announced the consoles launch of their upcoming roguelite co-op title Ship of Fools. Along with the Steam release, Ship of Fools will release on Ps5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S platforms later this year bringing the frantic co-op action to console players as well. As an anthropomorphic sailor, your goal is to protect your archipelago from gigantic, deadly leviathans and The Everlasting Storm as they strive to prevent the Aquapocalypse.

In Ship of Fools, you are aboard your ship called Stormstrider and you must protect your archipelago from huge monsters. The waters are deadly, but your spirits are high but that does not make you any less of a fool to roam these waters while gigantic leviathans are hiding in them, ready to tear down your ship. You must work alone or with a co-op partner, whether offline or online, and work together to make sure that your ship is always repaired, your canons are always firing, and your ship is never sinking.
As you wave off Leviathan after Leviathan, you unlock new rewards, uncover lost treasures and find remote shops on islands. You can also use harpoons to loot items floating in the waters and strive to defeat the final boss of the run as you save the world while doing it. Key features of Ship of Fools include:
- Bombastic combat – Frantic ship-based combat against colossal leviathans and horrifying creatures from across the deep, dark waters of the Archipelago
- Frantic co-op experience – Designed from the keel up for co-op play, manage ship repairs in the heat of battle, reload and re-manoeuvre cannons, and use paddles to strike enemies as they board the Stormstrider
- Endless replayability – Upgrade your crew and unlock items and additional Fools to take on the ever-changing seas, with multiple runs needed to avert the Aquapocalypse.

For consoles, you will have to wait until their respective pages go live to purchase the title. A confirmed release date for Ship of Fools is not known at this point however the game is slated to release later in 2022. The game was also featured during last week’s Future Games Show 2022.
