This Saros Legion Boss Battle Guide details all the tips and tricks needed to defeat Legion easily. Legion is the fourth boss you will face in Saros, found near the end of the Blighted Marsh. This fight is unique because you are not just dealing with one enemy, but a whole swarm protecting it. The key to winning here is understanding what actually matters, targeting Legion itself while managing everything happening around you.
Legion Boss Battle Guide – Saros
When the battle begins, Legion appears as a floating creature surrounded by many smaller tentacled allies. These smaller enemies constantly move around it and act like a shield, making it harder to land hits on the main boss.
Throughout the fight, your main goal is to attack the glowing core of Legion. It is important to remember that destroying these smaller creatures does not reduce Legion’s health at all. Their purpose is only to block your shots and create pressure. You can clear some of them to open a path, but focusing only on them won’t help you win since they keep coming back.
A helpful trick during the fight is to use your Power Weapon or Overdrive while Legion is mid-attack. If timed correctly, this can interrupt its flow and give you a short moment to recover or reposition.
Phase 1 – Learning the Patterns
In the first phase, Legion moves around while its swarm attacks you with wide, tracking yellow projectiles. These don’t hit immediately but tend to follow behind you, so you need to keep moving and stay aware of what is chasing you.
At times, the smaller creatures will split into rings around Legion. This is actually a good chance to attack the boss directly, but it comes with risk. The inner ring fires blue homing shots, while the outer ring launches red projectiles. You can avoid most of this by dashing sideways or carefully absorbing the blue shots if you are confident.
Another move you will see is Legion pulling itself into a tight shape and releasing a large wave of projectiles. It can look overwhelming, but if you move far enough away, many of the shots will disappear before reaching you. This creates a safe window where you can attack from a distance.
Sometimes, the swarm will surround you instead of Legion. They form a circle around your position and fire inward. Watch for the moment their heads flash, and jump right then to avoid getting hit repeatedly.
Phase 2 – Faster and More Aggressive
Once the first health bar is gone, the fight continues with the same attacks but at a quicker pace. You will need to react faster, but the patterns remain familiar.
A new attack appears where the swarm forms a star shape around Legion. Each part of the star fires projectiles toward you one after another. These shots don’t track you, so as long as you keep moving and dash when needed, they are manageable.
This phase is a good time to make strong use of your abilities. Power Weapons and Overdrive can deal heavy damage, especially if you hit Legion while also clearing some of the swarm around it. This helps shorten the fight significantly.
Phase 3 – Maximum Pressure
In the final phase, everything becomes more intense. The same attacks return again, but happen faster and with more pressure on you.
A new variation appears where the swarm forms a semicircle shape and fires waves of projectiles in sequence, similar to the star pattern but more focused. Staying mobile is still your best defense here.
In the last phase, use your Overdrive to deal massive damage, almost finishing the boss instantly. After that, you just need to clean up the remaining health with your regular attacks.
Reward for Defeating Legion
After defeating Legion, you will receive around 750 Lucenite.
