This Saros Architect Boss Battle Guide details all the tips and tricks needed to defeat Architect easily. Architect is the fifth boss in Saros that you will encounter at the end of the Desecrated Fortress. This fight feels intense because of its constant aerial attacks and changing arena, but it becomes much easier once you understand how to react and where to position yourself.
Architect Boss Battle Guide – Saros
During the fight, your main target should always be the Architect’s head, especially its glowing eye, as this deals the most damage. Also, if you manage to hit it with your Power Weapon or Overdrive while it is attacking, you can interrupt its flow for a brief moment. This gives you a small window to recover or reposition, which can be very helpful in tougher moments.
Phase 1 – Learning Its Attacks
At the start, the Architect stays in the air and attacks from a distance. One of its main moves is firing a long red beam across the arena. This not only damages you directly but also leaves behind a line of projectiles on the ground, while additional projectiles spread outward on both sides. It is best to avoid standing in its path and keep moving to safer areas.
Another common attack is when it flies across the arena while dragging its claws, creating a wide wave of blue projectiles. These are easy to jump over or dash through, and they also give you a good chance to use your shield to absorb hits and recharge your Power Weapon.
When the Architect hovers, it may release a large wall of yellow projectiles with extra red projectiles on top. Trying to jump over this is not a good idea since it is too tall. Instead, dash through it or absorb part of it if needed. Moving to the opposite side of the arena can also make this attack easier to deal with, as the projectiles spread out more.
You will also see smaller spiral attacks made of blue projectiles. These are easier to handle and give you another safe opportunity to absorb and recharge. On top of that, the Architect may fire random bursts of blue projectiles while flying, or flood the area with yellow ones while staying in place, so staying mobile is always important.
Phase 2 – Arena Changes and New Pressure
Once you remove its first health bar, the Architect crashes into the arena and knocks you back. At the same time, the edges of the arena break away, revealing grapple points. You must quickly grab onto one to avoid falling.
From here on, the fight takes place on a smaller platform, which makes positioning more important. The Architect will repeat this knockback attack later, so always be ready to grapple in midair.
A new attack in this phase involves blue projectiles falling from above in a cone-like pattern. They land in a sequence from the center outward, so you need to watch the timing and move carefully to avoid them. Whenever you see blue projectiles, try to absorb as many as you can to keep your alternative fire charged.
Another difficult move is when the Architect sends square-shaped tunnels of projectiles toward you, followed by blue shots. These often come in a set of three. You can try moving sideways, but due to limited space, it is usually better to jump through the opening in the tunnel and then quickly use your shield midair to absorb the follow-up projectiles.
If you ever feel overwhelmed by an attack, you can even jump off the platform on purpose and then use your grapple to return. This can help you reset your position and avoid tricky situations.
The Architect may also fly across the arena and leave a line of projectiles that slowly spread outward. Avoid the initial line, then jump or dash over the spreading wave to stay safe.
At times, it will land at a fixed point and summon large projectiles that fall together. When they hit, they create shockwaves and spread smaller projectiles across the platform. Staying far from the Architect and carefully moving between gaps will help you avoid damage here.
One important tip here is to use a weapon that works well at range and fires quickly. Slow or close-range weapons make this fight harder than it needs to be. The yellow projectile wall from earlier returns, but this time it comes in multiple waves. Keep your distance and jump over them one after another to stay safe.
Phase 3 – Final and Most Intense Stage
After the second health bar is gone, the Architect dashes down again and reduces the arena even further. Each time it slams, the platform gets smaller until you are left with very little space to move.
Many previous attacks return, but they are faster and more aggressive now. However, the Architect will sometimes stay near the edge, giving you slightly more control over positioning.
One new move is a claw slam that creates a shockwave along with trailing projectiles. The shockwave is easy to jump over, and the slower projectiles can be avoided by adjusting your position. Just be careful, as it can repeat this attack multiple times in a row.
Another dangerous attack is when the Architect lowers its head and fires a powerful red beam across the platform, sweeping it from one side to the other. You will need to react quickly and move out of its path to avoid taking heavy damage.
Reward for Defeating the Architect
Once you defeat the Architect, you will receive around 1,100 Lucenite if no modifiers are active. After the fight, Nitya will contact you, and your suit will detect a signal coming from a place called The Passage, pointing you toward what comes next.
