Developer Roll7 and publisher Private Division have announced the introductory price for their upcoming title Rollerdrome. Rollerdrome will cost $19.79 for a limited time on Steam and PS Plus members of any tiers. The main reason behind this price is that while the game is set in the year 2030, it is seen through a 1970s retro-futuristic lens. The intro price of $19.79 pays homage to this iconic era. This price will switch to the full price of $29.99 eventually for both Steam and PlayStation Store.
The publisher also announced that a game trial for Rollerdrome will also become available for PS Plus Premium members at the title’s launch. The game trial will allow PS Plus Premium members to experience a small taste of the flow of Rollerdrome and delve into the game’s wildly imaginative, darkly dystopian shooter-skater world starting August 16 on both PS5 and PS4. Before the game’s launch, the demo will not be available on any platform.
Apart from these announcements, the developer also released the very-first behind-the-scenes developer video in which Roll7 showcases the thrill of fusing fluid movements and stylish tricking mechanics in a unique retro-futuristic universe while all-new adrenaline-pumping soundtrack by musical artist Electric Dragon is playing in the background. The video will allow you to learn how the team approached balancing constant movement at the forefront of gameplay with the varied level design of the brutal game arenas.

Rollerdrome was initially announced at Sony State of Play stream back in June 2022. Rollerdrome is slated for release on August 16, 2022, and will come out on PS4, PS5, and PC. The PC release will be exclusive to Steam at launch. We might see it making its way to other platforms in the future however for its launch, we only have three confirmed platforms. The introductory price will only remain until August 29, 2022. In addition, all players who are not PlayStation Plus members will not be able to avail of the introductory price discount as well and they will need to buy the game at its full price of $29.99.
