Red Art Games Announces Western Release of Relayer on PlayStation

Red Art Games has announced the western release of the Japanese mecha action Relayer on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on May 20th, 2022. The 3D simulation role-playing game developed by Kadokawa Games will be getting a physical release for the Sony console.

The western release as confirmed by Red Art Games means that retail copies of Relayer will release on the same date in both Europe and America, both costing €59.99 and $59.99 respectively, while the pre-order for the PS5 and the PS4 physical editions are now available on the official Red Art Games online store.

Relayer is a futuristic Simulation-RPG in which players take control of a squadron of humanoid weapons called Stellar Gear in order to save humanity from a powerful extraterrestrial threat known as the Relayers. Players who buy the PS4 version of Relayer will be able to download the PS5 version of the game at no extra cost.

Relayer is a next-gen robot SRPG that is set in a sci-fi alternate reality, wherein Starchildren – humans who have been granted special abilities – take on extraterrestrial threat known as Relayers. Players will have to command a squadron of Stellar Gear, humanoid weapons that are developed using the technology of ancient alien civilizations.

These weapons are needed to defend Earth from the invading Relayer aliens. The game has approximately 100 unique cutscenes that will play during battles throughout the game, while stage maps are illustrated in high quality, full 3D.

If you purchase the PlayStation 4 version of the game, it can be upgraded to the PlayStation 5 version for free, while the saved data will also be transferred to the new-gen console. The PlayStation 5 version of Relayer comes with 4K resolution graphics and faster loading times.
