Cygames has confirmed the Nintendo Switch 2 release date for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which is coming out simultaneously with Version 2.60 Update on September 17. update also brings a data link bonus tied to Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok.

Version 2.60 will bring Id to the game, a new playable DLC character pulled from Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Once an antagonist in Relink, the swordsman of Zegagrande brings his draconic strength to GBVSR’s roster, giving players the chance to test his abilities against the game’s existing cast. The update also introduces a new stage, Ainsteddo Archipelago, alongside a new system mechanic and balance adjustments for several characters, with further specifics still to be detailed.

Alongside the update, GBVSR is finally arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day. The Switch 2 version launches with the full 40-character roster included from the start, meaning characters previously only available as DLC, including Id, come built into the package. The version also adds local multiplayer communication, letting players battle each other locally regardless of which character they’re using. Core features from the existing release carry over too, including the expansive Story Mode and the popular Figure Studio. Cygames has confirmed that more details on the Switch 2 version are still to come.

Rounding out the announcement is a save data link bonus tied to Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, which releases on July 9. Players who link their save data will receive bonus items in GBVSR, including a weapon skin for Id and a Lyria (Shaman of Salvation) lobby avatar. The ability to link save data will become available starting September 1, giving players a window to pick up Endless Ragnarok ahead of the bonus going live.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is currently available on PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version launching September 17, 2026. The Version 2.60 Update will also arrive on the same date across all current platforms.
