Ratalaika Games Reveal Parasite Pack Featuring Two Great Simplistic Titles

Review: Parasite Pack

Indie publisher Ratalaika Games is teaming up with Scottish developer Lowtek Games Studio to release the Parasite Pack which features two amazing titles. The Parasite Pack comes with Flea and Tapeworm Disco Puzzle which are good old-school titles great for short pick-and-play sessions. Despite their simplistic visuals, both titles are really challenging, and they will remind you of the good old days of hardcore challenging titles.

Demanding extreme focus and joystick control, both titles included in the Parasite Pack feature retro visuals and a soundtrack that will take you back to the arcade scene. The Scottish developer Lowtek went to great lengths in order to ensure that the Parasite Pack is as perfect as possible and for this, developers as far as Brazil have worked on the title to polish it. Both titles in the pack are for gamers of all ages and skill levels however only the best will master them. Check out the teaser for the Parasite Pack below:

Tapeworm Disco Puzzle is inspired by Snake and lolo with added mechanics to make it an original release. It is a casual puzzle game where you must uncover the mystery behind the fleas acting strangely. The puzzles are progressively difficult and major milestones in the game unlock new challenges and mechanics for you to keep it fresh. The game also allows co-op so that you can team up with friends to solve puzzles together.

Key features of Tapeworm Disco Puzzle include:

  • Avoid enemies
  • Don’t kill the fleas
  • Collect all the notes
  • Help the fleas collect the blood
  • Open Doors with switches
  • Help Fleada get to the gig on time

The developer LowTek comments:

It’s about the gameplay. Games really don’t need to have cutting edge graphics to be fun to play. The graphics were also originally built for 8-bit hardware so have the authentic feel. The idea of bringing the games to modern consoles was so that many more people could play and experience the game in its original setting. Flea and tapeworm take place in the same universe with characters appearing in both games.

The second title is Flea and is a challenging 2D platformer where you play as Henry the Hyperactive Flea who cannot stop jumping. Your goal in the game is to navigate the beasts and collect the blood to get to the heart of the problems. Different challenges await Henry as he tries to collect blood and avoid thumb tacks in the various levels. Each dog is unique in the game and will bring its own unique theme, soundtrack, abilities, and enemies.

Key features of the game include:

  • Explore 80 levels
  • Meet weird characters
  • Discover secrets.

The Parasite Pack is slated for release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It will set you back $7.99. Additional details are available on the official website.
