Nintendo just held a special Pokémon Direct event during which it announced two brand new mainstream titles Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword which are coming exclusively on Nintendo Switch. These two new titles are coming out in late 2019.
Both Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Sword are set in the Galar region which is a brand new setting for the games. This region features never before seen Pokémon and brand new adventures for players to experience and share with their Pokémon.
The Galar region is a very big region which features many different environments. Players will travel through countrysides, cities, plains and snow covered mountains. In the Galar region, people and Pokémon live side by side and they have developed industries by working together as well.
Players will visit different gyms in this region with newly discovered Pokémon to make them their first partners. The rest of the formula of playing the game is similar to other games. Players will fight in gym battles and move ahead to win the ultimate title of Champion.
At the start, players will get to choose one partner from three never before seen Pokémon. They include Grookey, Sobble and Scorbunny. Grookey is a Chimp Pokémon and is full of curiosity. Scorbunny is a rabbit Pokémon and is loves running around because it is always full of energy.
The last Pokémon is Sobble which is a Water Lizard Pokémon and is extremely timid and will hide in the water as it shoots it attacks. Players will choose one Pokémon from these three to become their partners. Apart from these three, players will also get to see and capture many other never before seen Pokémon in the entire Galar region.
