Developer Gaddy Games has announced the release date of their upcoming resource management title Plan B: Terraform. Plan B: Terraform is slated for its early access release on PC via Steam on February 15, 2023. Plan B: Terraform is set on Earth in the near future where Earth has a difficult time limiting global warming and its catastrophic consequences and humanity had to put in a plan B in order to survive.
In Plan B: Terraform, after discovering a new and untouched planet, you will start building and expanding a growing colony for Earth’s survivors. Apart from building homes for people to live in, you will be building entire cities to supply and manage the new planet’s terraformation. As you complete task after task, you will make the planet more hospitable for humans. To warm up the atmosphere, you will build terraforming devices which will also melt ice and encourage rainfall in order to form rivers and oceans. Once the earth is green enough, you will be able to plant trees and grow entire forests of them.
The entire world of Plan B: Terraform is composed of more than a million hexagons where players will experience a real terraformation of a planet with a global and real-time simulation of temperature, vegetation growth, and dynamically formed rivers and oceans. You will be able to witness the radical evolution of the population as your colony grows from a few inhabitants to millions and more.
Updated key features of Plan B: Terraform include:
- Expand and progress: Extract minerals, terraform, and transport these items to cities in order to expand your colony.
- Plan for the future: Build terraforming devices such as greenhouse gas factories in order to progressively warm up the atmosphere, make ice melt and make rain fall until rivers and oceans form. Once certain conditions are met you’ll be able to plant trees and create lush forests.
- Huge planetary scale background: A realistic world made up of over a million hexagons.
- Real terraformation of a planet: The game features a real time simulation of temperature, vegetation, rain, and water flowing to from dynamic rivers and oceans.
For its initial release, Gaddy Games will be releasing Plan B: Terraform in its early access phase where further development of the game will continue alongside fan feedback. The developer announced the early access release back in November 2022 and now we have a confirmed release date for the title.
