Phantasy Star Online 2 Releasing on Steam with Co-Op Support

Phantasy Star Online 2 Steam

After a buggy release on Windows 10 Store earlier this year, Sega has now announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to Steam as well. Not only that but players have a reliable and decent installer this time around with Steam but the game will also support cross-platform co-op which will allow players to join in the game no matter which platform they chose to purchase the game from.

The Steam release for Phantasy Star Online 2 has been set for August 5, 2020, which is the same date for the release of the game’s free Episode 4 for Xbox One and Windows 10 Store. As far as we are concerned, the Steam version is going to be the most stable version of the game as it comes with some additional features as well such as Steam Achievements and Remote Play. Sega has also announced that if players want to switch their platform from Xbox One or Windows 10 to Steam, they can do so as well.

All of their progress from the Xbox One or Windows 10 version will transfer over to the Steam version with the help of a code that is entered into the new version of the game where the progress has to be transferred to. However, we are pretty sure that this transfer is going to be a one-time thing and once the transfer is complete to a new platform, you will not be able to go back with the same progress to your older platform so this is something that you will need to look into.

Phantasy Star Online 2 might be a free-to-play MMORPG but it features solid combat mechanics and a detailed character creator. It boasts a dedicated player base who have been playing the game ever since it was released. The game features hours and hours of singleplayer content featuring a story, 4-player co-op missions, and timed-quests. When compared to other MMORPGs, it holds itself pretty well and is a great addition to the genre.

Are you looking forward to playing Phantasy Star Online 2 when it comes out on Steam or will you stick to your current platforms? Let us know in the comments section below.
