PES 2020 Secures Juventus License After EA Loses Licensing Agreement

PES 2020 Juventus

PES 2020 creator Konami now has the rights to the Italian team Juventus, after EA Sports loses its licensing agreement for the team in FIFA. Juventus is the Italian soccer club which has some big names like Christiano Ronaldo, Gozalo Higuain, Aaron Ramsey, and more.

This means that the next title in the series, FIFA 20 will not have Juventus in the game, but it will instead have a fictional team called “Piemonte Calcio” if they want to play with Christiano Ronaldo. The fictional club will come with its own badge and kit that will be designed by EA Sports.

Juventus Football Club was also in on the announcement as it eagerly posted the statement on its website saying,

The new and exciting partnership with Konami will see the eFootball PES series have exclusive use of Juventus intellectual property within console football video games, including the team name, the crest, and official kits. In addition, the development team has been granted in-depth access to the players themselves, via full-body 3D scan, in order to recreate their likeliness in the game as accurately as possible.

Juventus has been a part of FIFA for 25 years now, as it held the license for Serie A champions. It is a big team in real life and can be a massive blow for EA since Juventus club will now be featured in PES 2020 by Konami. PES is the only rival that FIFA has where both the games have been debated by loyal fans for their greatness.

The biggest advantage FIFA has had over all these years of rivalry is that it almost always holds the licenses to every major team and player, except a few notable exclusions. On the other hand, PES has always claimed to feature realistic gameplay mechanics but lacked on securing team licenses. Manchester United football club has always been referred to as Man Rad in its “Tad Brick” stadium.
