Party-Based Deckbuilder Rogue Reigns Announced For PC and Consoles with a September Release Window

Rogue Reigns

Brazilian indie developer Venn Studios has revealed Rogue Reigns, a dark fantasy roguelike deckbuilder set to launch in September 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and mobile devices. The announcement was accompanied by a first gameplay trailer, offering an early look at the game’s hybrid visual style and its focus on party-based combat.

Rogue Reigns reworks the traditional deckbuilding formula by shifting from a single playable character to a team of three heroes, each with their own deck, abilities, and turn order. Combat revolves around how these characters interact, with players making strategic decisions about which hero to strengthen after each encounter. Because rewards are limited, progression becomes uneven across the party, forcing trade-offs that shape each run and influence long-term survival.

The game is set in a fractured dark fantasy world where death has been removed through the misuse of a powerful artifact, leaving societies in decline and conflict. This premise feeds into both the narrative and gameplay structure, with runs designed around gradual attrition and difficult choices. A pursuing threat, referred to as the Stalker, adds pressure to progression by tracking the player’s party and forcing forward momentum.

Rogue Reigns

Visually, Rogue Reigns combines hand-drawn character art with procedurally generated 3D environments, an uncommon approach within the deckbuilding genre. The game is built on Venn Studios’ proprietary Wildcard engine, which is designed to support its layered combat systems and dynamic world design. Players can choose from multiple character classes, including Warrior, Wizard, Rogue, and others, with different combinations unlocking distinct synergies and strategies.

The project also reflects the studio’s close ties to the deckbuilding community, with development shaped through ongoing playtests and feedback from genre-focused players. Additional public demos are planned at upcoming events such as gamescom latam and gamescom Germany, alongside a showcase during the Steam Deckbuilders Fest, which runs from May 4 to 11, 2026.

Rogue Reigns

Rogue Reigns is currently in development for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, along with mobile devices. It is slated for release in September 2026.
