Here is the schedule for GeForce RTX series reviews:
- September 14th — Turing architecture
- September 17th — GeForce RTX 2080 reviews
- September 19th — GeForce RTX 2080 Ti reviews
Once the embargo is lifted, the reviewers will receive officially the RTX series graphic cards to analyze, benchmark and test. Basically, a total performance index will be revealed after the embargo. Nvidia at Gamescom showcased few games which will support real-time ray tracing. Battlefield V, Shadow of Tomb Raider and Control were few games in which real-time ray tracing feature was showcased. Ray-Tracing is RTX exclusive feature that will only come in Turing Architecture GPUs. In addition to that, only GeForce RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti will support this feature. At this point it is unknown if any other RTX gpu (if shown in future) may support the feature or not.
Nvidia also listed few games that will support ray-tracing features at launch. Check out the list here.
Nvidia’s new Turing architecture is another leap in graphics designing. The last leap Nvidia took was its CUDA GPU in 2006. Turing architecture makes real time tracing possible, it features RT Cores which accelerates ray tracing and Tensor Cores.
Back at SIGGRAPH event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised the potential of real-time ray tracing. He further said:
Hybrid rendering will change the industry, opening up amazing possibilities that enhance our lives with more beautiful designs, richer entertainment and more interactive experiences. The arrival of real-time ray tracing is the Holy Grail of our industry.
