Indie Publisher Numskull Games Announces New Partnership with Limited Run Games

Indie video game publisher Numskull Games has announced a brand-new partnership with Limited Run Games, a North American video game distributor. As part of the new partnership, Limited Run Games will help distribute Numskull’s ever-growing library of titles in North America to a wider range of audiences.

The partnership will allow Numskull to utilize the Limited Run Games’ distribution and marketing expertise to introduce original games to a new audience starting with the very first title Battle Axe, complete with a brand-new region exclusive box art. The release is slated for April 2021 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Martin Defries, Managing Director of Numskull Games details:

Having previously collaborated with Limited Run Games (LRG), I am very aware how they treat great games with care and affection to reach interested gamers. I am delighted to be able to partner again with Limited Run Games to ensure Numskull Games releases will be available in the USA. The first game release in this partnership will be Battle Axe for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 set for late April 2021. In keeping with LRG’s distinctive style, we have developed unique Collectors’ Editions alongside the standard editions that are all exclusively available via Limited Run Games.

Battle Axe is a 16-bit hack-n-slash adventure game that features pixel art visuals and tight controls that can be played in both solo and local co-op mode. Manning the development side of the game is Henk Nieborg who is a renowned pixel artist and developer with over thirty years in game development, alongside Mike Tucker and the team at Bitmap Bureau. The game will receive both a standard edition and a limited edition on all major formats next month. The standard edition will cost $39.95 while the Badge Edition will cost $49.95. Pre-orders are now live for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
