We have been hearing about a new Nintendo Switch console for a long time that will be more powerful than the current console and it will also pack additional features. A brand new report has now emerged by United Daily News, a Taiwanese newspaper, that Nintendo could be all set to release a brand new Nintendo Switch model early in 2021 and it will be much more powerful than the current Nintendo Switch console lineup.
The new Switch console is long rumored as a ‘Pro’ version of the normal Switch that will have powerful hardware as compared to the current Switch. The new report cites different hardware manufactures that are involved in the production of the current Switch models. The report also claims that the production of the new console will begin in Q4 2020 with a release window of Q1 2021. It will mainly focus on improved interactivity and display quality.
We know that the current Nintendo Switch seriously lacks when it comes to display as it only supports 720p. This new report has been further strengthened by Bloomberg’s Takashi Mochizuki who states that he has confirmed the report of a new Switch and people have already been briefed on the strategy. According to his report, the specifications of the new console are still to be finalized however it will certainly have improved computing power and 4K HD graphics.
The major highlight if this brand new report is that the new Nintendo Switch console will release with a collection of brand new first-party and third-party titles that will utilize the increased hardware prowess of the new console along with additional features as well. According to Takashi, these titles will cater to a wide range of audiences including both casual and hardcore gamers.
This is still a rumor and nothing solid has been revealed by Nintendo so far on the possibility of a new ‘Pro’ Nintendo Switch console releasing this year. Until that happens, you should still take this news as a rumor and nothing else however the sources of this brand new report appear to be pretty strong and makes us believe that a new, more powerful Nintendo Switch console is indeed happening and it might release as early Q1 2021.
