iRacing Studios has finally announced the release date of NASCAR 26. NASCAR 26 will launch on September 18 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with this year’s installment introducing several new gameplay systems designed to expand on last year’s debut standalone NASCAR console title. Alongside the release date announcement, the developer also published a new developer diary highlighting some of the game’s biggest additions ahead of a full gameplay reveal later this month.
Leading the feature list is a new dynamic track system that changes racing conditions throughout an entire race weekend. Rather than driving on a static surface, players will have to adapt as the track evolves, affecting grip levels and vehicle handling over the course of an event. The addition aims to make races feel less predictable and place greater emphasis on strategy and car control.
Another major addition is cross-platform multiplayer, allowing players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S to compete against one another online. The game also introduces long-requested burnouts, an updated driving model, and further improvements to its Career Mode, although iRacing says additional gameplay features will be revealed in next week’s gameplay trailer.
Like its predecessor, NASCAR 26 features all four of NASCAR’s premier racing series, including the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series. Players will race with officially licensed drivers from each championship while progressing through an expanded career that spans multiple levels of stock car competition.
This year’s cover athlete is NASCAR star Kyle Larson, continuing the series’ focus on authentic presentation following the release of NASCAR 25. Released last year, NASCAR 25 marked iRacing’s first standalone NASCAR title developed specifically for consoles after taking over the official NASCAR game license. The studio has since continued refining the franchise with an emphasis on simulation-inspired driving while remaining accessible to a broader audience.
iRacing has confirmed that NASCAR 26 will be available in Standard and Gold Edition versions. While pricing, pre-order bonuses, and the full contents of the Gold Edition have yet to be revealed, the developer says those details will accompany the game’s first gameplay trailer on July 29.
NASCAR 26 launches on September 18 for PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players who purchase the Gold Edition will receive early access beginning September 15, with additional gameplay details, pricing, and pre-order information set to be announced on July 29. The Gold Edition will include three days of early access, allowing players to start racing on September 15, ahead of the standard launch.
