Do you know what’s even more heartbreaking that breakup or a really bad game? The moment when a great game goes unappreciated. The last couple of years brought us many fun games that have gone unnoticed so we decided to compile a list of the most underrated games of the last decade that you might have missed.
Here are the Most Underrated Games Of The Last Decade that you need to play!
10. Catherine
The quirky adult puzzler role-playing game was quite the thing withing its small circle of cult fans. The story of a man and his affair with Catharine was awesome.
the gameplay was simple yet fun and revolved around climbing, pushing and pulling blocks and avoiding traps like spikes. It was one cool title which many people haven’t enjoyed.
9. Bulletstorm
The over the top first-person shooter game Bulletstorm that was that gave rewards for creative kills was one hell of an entertaining package. Almost as if it was a blend of Deadpool and old school mayhem.
The game was built purely upon arcade design which is why many couldn’t get themselves into it (their loss) and the fact that it lacked a line up multiplayer modes. A futuristic setting where you have to go guns out against and Elite band called Dead Echo was rocking!
8. Spec Ops: The Line
In a wrecked up version of Dubai, an elite Delta force team was on a recon mission. The game starts out as a war-torn shooter that gets dark real fast. The protagonist’s mental health deteriorates he realizes the terrors of war.
Gameplay-wise it was a great cover-based shooter, in the desert, and played a big role in aid you in defeating your enemies. Despite being a solid game the game didn’t get much attention and love.
7. Mad Max
You guys clearly know how pathetic most videogames turn out to be when they’re based on a movie and we feared that Mad Max would fall in the same category but no! The game was actually very good, it had all of what makes a game great.
The combat resembled Batman Arkham’s style, the graphics and details were amazing, scripted action sequences rocked and the whole open world was enjoyable too. You had missions, side quests and badass rusty killer means of transport. The only problem the had was that it got a little repetitive, apart from this the game was fun.
6. Sonic Generations
Hey, we all love sonic, trust us but we do agree on the fact that Sonic Franchise has gone through some sub-par releases since the glory days.
With a poor release in 2006, the franchise made a good comeback in 2011 with Sonic Generations where Sonic and Tails form a team with their retro selves to stop an evil entity. The concept was cool and added a little something to a game that had gotten stale.
5. Max Payne 3
Its highly unlikely that a game from Rockstar fails to make the loud noise of success among the gaming community, yes it did happen with the game Max Payne 3 which we still to date are scratching heads over why people couldn’t see what we and many others saw.
Max Payne 3 had a cold-hearted story where you shoot your way tell the very end, had good visuals, the dialogue was great and overall was a fantastic third-person shooter.
4. Batman: Arkham Origins
The Arkham games are Hollywood level moneymakers of gaming that have a legendary status however the prequel to the Arkham Legacy (See what I did there) got itself into a slightly tight situation after it’s a big release. The game had a few glitches and all but that’s didn’t make it all bad. It had a very liner yet a great story mode that had a strong flow.
Boss fights were the main focus in this game and in all honesty, there were pretty Darn kicking! Graphics were good, Gameplay was excellent and so was the rest but somehow it’s one of those good games that aren’t much talked about.
3. Saints Row IV
The saints of Steel Port are loved by masses, the first three titles bagged success and massive appreciation but things took a sharp turn with the fourth installment. Now instead of fighting gangs that featured luchadores and Fizzy Drink Lovers you are the president of Steel ports which is invaded by Evil Emperor Alien.
An Alien apocalypse, super abilities, and the same old saints’ goodness was an amazing package, sad that didn’t get the hype and love it deserved.
2. WWE All Stars
WWE is great and so are its videogames but at one point even we got tired of playing the same realistic Wraaslin Titles and that is where THQ decided to turn things around with an over the top game that no one had ever seen coming.
All-stars featured larger than life insanely buffed versions of the top stars, gameplay that was based on health bars and gigantic super moves that would take the opponents 15 feet high for a devastating impact!
Only if had been played by fans they way they hop onto the usual WWE games. Ahh we would’ve gotten its sequel by now (Now I Am Sad)
1. Sunset Overdrive
Exclusives aren’t much of a thing with Xbox, they do have their ways with a few ongoing titles but that’s all. Back in Xbox One’s Launch days Insomniacs games made Sunset Overdrive and boy it was a masterpiece.
The game had to splash vibrant colors all over it broke the fourth wall like a champ. It was a straight-up shoot shoot bang bang game that had tons of fun guaranteed.
Great gameplay that had the essence of Tony Hawks, a killer soundtrack, stunning visuals, and an open world you’d never get tired of shooting OD’s in. Sunset was 10/10 yet somehow buried.
