More Twitch Streamers Might Move to Mixer in the Future, Ninja Hits 500K on Mixer

Mixer Shutting Down

Everyone was surprised when Ninja announced last week that he is shifting from Twitch to Mixer and will be saying goodbye to the platform where he started. However, it seems like Ninja might not be the only one moving to Mixer. Youtuber h3h3 has revealed in his podcast that following Ninja’s footsteps, more top Twitch streamers might move to Mixer as well.

Ninja obviously made a deal with Mixer before moving to the platform and the next streamers who move to Mixer from Twitch will also strike a deal with Mixer before moving to the platform. Microsoft’s Mixer has been around for a long time however it is not as popular as Twitch which makes it even more interesting.

Microsoft has been making moves to expand its control over the video game industry and this looks like another similar move. With Ninja on the platform, people will start taking Mixer seriously and will probably want to stream over Mixer rather than Twitch. If more top Twitch streamers are willing to move to Mixer, this means bad tidings for the streaming platform giant.

You can check out the short clip in which h3h3 is discussing the move below.

It has been less than a week since Ninja moved to Mixer and he just announced that he has hit over 500k subs over the weekend. This has not only helped Ninja but Mixer is now the top-ranked free app on iOS App Store as well. This is exactly what Microsoft wanted for its streaming platform. His first stream on Mixer was live from the Lollapalooza.

The fanbase for Ninja on Mixer is continuously increasing and it is certainly inviting for other Twitch streamers as well. Mixer had its own top streamers earlier but now with Ninja on board, things are about to heat up a lot more than before. It also shows that followers are willing to ditch the platform if their favorite streamer makes a switch.

With Ninja now onboard Mixer, we can also hope that he will help Microsoft push some of their own exclusives on Mixer and to more people. Some of the past Microsoft exclusive’s such as Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves have been mediocre and unable to attract a dedicated fanbase. With Ninja now steering Mixer’s ship, we can expect a lot more coverage of these titles as well.
