Moonlight Peaks Farming Guide – All Crops, Magic Seeds, How to Get Them

Moonlight Peaks Farming Guide

Our Moonlight Peaks Farming Guide details everything you need to know about growing crops, harvesting them, and buying more seeds. From planting your first Blood Grape seeds to growing fruit trees and unlocking magical crops, this guide covers it all. Farming is an important part of making money, preparing food, and producing items such as wine and jam, so understanding how the system works will help you get more from your homestead.

Farming and Crops Guide – Moonlight Peaks

Farming is relatively easy to start in Moonlight Peaks. All you need to have is a shovel, watering can, and seeds; the basic tools are available from Spring 1 onwards. The tool wheel will open on the right bumper of the Joy-Con and will let you switch between your tools using the bumper.

Starting Up:

You will receive your first seeds from Orlock on Spring 1, after you have made him the wine he asks you to make. The Blood Grape Seeds are especially helpful to start a farm, as they will keep bearing fruit in their seasons and can also be used to make wine.

How to Farm Seeds:

After you have collected a few seeds, use your shovel to make a hole in the soil. Click on your inventory and select the seeds you wish to plant, and then select Plant. Once the seeds have been planted, water them daily using the watering can, which will help them grow. Until you purchase a well, you will have to refill your watering can with the water on the left of the house. But in the future, when you have access to spellcasting, you can also buy a spell to instantly fill up the watering can.

Make sure you water your plants daily unless it rains; otherwise, your plants will not grow or produce food. Once the crop is ready, just interact with it to harvest it, and the yield will be added to the inventory.

How to Buy New Seeds:

You can buy seeds from Luna’s seed stand; the availability of the seeds depends on the current season. In the beginning, there are no magic crops selected; these are unlocked later as you complete Luna’s magic-related quests.

Magic Seeds:

Apart from the regular seeds, you can also unlock Magical seeds once you have unlocked the Aquaflux 1 spell. This ability is unlocked when Luna writes you a letter requesting assistance with a project during Summer of Year One, which then starts your Magic of Crops quest.

On this quest, with Luna’s support, you’ll fix your broken wand and learn Aquaflux 1, the spell for watering magical crops. With Aquaflux I, you can start to cultivate Magic Seeds. These crops are not the same as normal crops, as they can’t be watered with the ordinary watering can. Rather, the magical water must be applied to them by the Aquaflux I spell.

Apart from regular crops and magical ones, you can grow herbs with access to the Herb Garden after unlocking Blueprints during a conversation with Luna. This Need for Herbs quest will only unlock after you have completed The Magic of Crops Quest. Luna will give you the Blueprint for the Herb Garden after you start the Quest.

How to Make Herb Garden:

After acquiring the Blueprint, head towards your Workbench and navigate to the Herb Garden, which requires 10 Wooden Planks that can be obtained by making Wood in the Refinery. It is recommended to have two Herb Gardens, as there will be enough space for the herbs your current Mana supply can support.

After you have constructed them, put the gardens outdoors and add your seeds. The following will be watered with Aquaflux I, except for normal seeds, which can be watered with the normal watering can.

Fruit Trees:

Fruit trees are also a valuable aspect of farming in Moonlight Peaks. Currently, only a limited selection of fruit trees exists, but they are important as they provide fruit for many recipes in food preparation. Below are all the Fruit Trees you can grow in Moonlight Peaks:

Fruit Tree Season Grow Time Sell Value
Blood Orange Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter Grows in 25 days

Fruit trees can grow in all seasons but do not bear fruit in all seasons, only in their fruiting seasons. For this reason, it may be useful to plan the planting area and timing to ensure a more regular supply for cooking.
