Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Ship with Optional Microtransactions

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Microtransactions

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is Bethesda’s latest title in the long-running Wolfenstein franchise and it seems like the latest title will have some microtransactions in it. However, it turns out that you can play the entire game without spending a single dime on microtransactions and it is totally not required unless the player really wants to dish out more cash on the game.

This was revealed by senior game designer MachineGames Andreas Ojerfors who gave an exclusive interview to VG247 and stated that they have implemented the microtransactions in such a balanced way in Wolfenstein: Youngblood that they are completely optional. They are not at all required for any major thing in the game and the players can enjoy the entire game without spending a single dime on the game.

His official words to VG247 were:

I’ve been playing through the game at work for the last two weeks and I haven’t done any microtransactions. You don’t really need to, but they are there if you want to, if you want to speed things up. But I never felt the need to do that. When I play the game it doesn’t even cross my mind.

The optional microtransactions included in the game are skins and emotes. The player can also purchase some gold bars with real money which can be used to unlock weapon upgrades and attachments. However, this can be avoided if the player can find numerous coins spread around each level and use them instead for these attachments and upgrades. It all depends on the player.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the latest title by Bethesda which features the daughters of BJ Blazkowics who are trying to find the lead to their father who is missing. The Blazkowics twins will stop at absolutely nothing and will try everything that s required to find their father even if that includes overthrowing the ruling Nazi war machine in Paris.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is coming out on July 26, 2019, on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
