FRAME BREAK and Amplifier Game Invest revealed a brand-new trailer for their upcoming peaceful farming game Lightyear Frontier. The latest trailer was showcased during IGN Awesome Indies Show at Gamescom 2022 and it revolved more around how the mech works in the game which will be your primary source of movement in the game. You will perform a majority of your tasks using your mech in the game. Check out the trailer below to see the mech in action:
While Lightyear Frontier is a farming game, you will be using your mech to complete nearly all of the in-game tasks. You will only get out of your mech while you are in your sleeping quarters where you can change the visual appearance of your mech. You will have plenty of mech modules that can be upgraded or swapped with better ones as you unlock them in the game. These range from altering the movement of the mech to making it more efficient by the addition of different functions to the mech which was previously absent from it.
Apart from its performance and ability to perform tasks, you will be able to customize the look of your mech as well by changing its colors. You will do all of the farming, building, and resource collecting using your mech, so it is always beneficial to get all of the upgrades for your mech. For that, you will need special buildings where you can invest resources to produce new mech modules and upgrades. You can also sell your crops to the vendor to purchase modules directly from the market if you do not want to make them yourself.
The more you invest in your mech, the more efficient it will eventually become. There are different modules for mobility as well which will allow you to travel quickly around the area and stay more time in the wild. As you venture deep into the wild, you will find rarer resources for expanding your homestead. Rare crops and materials give more back once you sell them so it is always beneficial to find the best available resources and use them in your farming. Lightyear Frontier also features a dynamic weather system that could work in your favor and against you depending on its nature.

Lightyear Frontier is slated for release in Spring 2023 on Xbox and PC, and it will also arrive on Xbox Game Pass on day one. Additional details about the game will be shared in the upcoming days. The game was originally announced back in June 2022.
