A List Games and Vaki Games have announced the early access release date of their upcoming dark fantasy, third-person 5v5 arena brawler Kingshunt. Kingshunt will release into early access on November 3, 2022, and will cost $19.99. After its early access release, the developer will continue the development of the game alongside fans and the final form of the game will depend on the fan feedback collected by the developer during its early access phase.
Check out the new trailer for Kingshunt below:
If this is the first time you are hearing about Kingshunt, it blends real-time melee and magic combat with strategic tower and minion summoning. The concept is pretty much the same when compared directly with Dota 2 which is currently the best 5v5 arena brawlers out there. Kingshunt will launch with 15 heroes to choose from and players will be able to use melee, ranged, or utility characters depending on their own playstyles.
In each game of Kingshunt, five players will team up against another team of five players and the goal for both teams is the same. Defeat the opposing team by controlling strategic locations on the map or destroy the enemy base completely. Considering the fact that Kingshunt is entering a genre that has been largely dominated by few, select titles for decades, A List Games and Vaki Games will really need to step up their development and refinement of the title to make its place and pull the audience from its competition.
During the WN Unreal Dev Contest, Kingshunt managed to win two awards for its attention to detail and visuals. Teemu Jyrkinen, CEO of Vaki Games details:
We are very excited to share Kingshunt with you. The choice was clear to launch in early access. It offers us the opportunity to quickly learn and adapt based on our growing community’s feedback. We aim to be very collaborative with our players.
Key features of Kingshunt include:
- Third-person action combat – Conquer your enemies in a 5v5 arena that is a hybrid of capture and hold combined with lane-based towers and minions.
- Choose from a roster of heroes and master their unique set of skills and spells to suit your playstyle.
- In Kingshunt every Hero has the ability to summon powerful minions and place formidable towers providing true player agency and an unprecedented level of strategic depth not seen in other arena brawlers.
- Unlock powerful runes to add new passives and buffs to your heroes, customizing your playstyle even further.
