According to a new report, Apple has stopped the production of the iPhone 12 Mini and that is due to its poor sales. When Apple launched the iPhone 12 last year, it produced really high sales numbers. But even though the series as a whole was a success, the iPhone 12 Mini underperformed significantly compared to the rest of the models.
And now, according to a report from TrendForce, the iPhone 12 mini has already reached the end of its time during the second quarter of this year, and that Apple produces no more iPhone 12 mini phones and makes use of the existing inventory. The iPhone 12 series was introduced in October of last year, and nine months from release, the iPhone 12 Mini’s production has stopped.
The iPhone 12 mini was the smallest model in the iPhone 12 series with a 5.4-inch display. However, the rest of the smartphone was pretty much identical to the standard iPhone 12 model. It features the same processor and cameras as its bigger counterpart. Nonetheless, it features a smaller battery which might have been an issue for some users.
The smaller iPhone 12 mini has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the iPhone 12 ups it to 6.1 inches. Both models feature a 2340 x 1080 resolution supporting 1200 nits of peak brightness and are HDR10 compliant. The Pro models have a 6.1″ screen on the 12 Pro, and the 12 Pro Max has a 6.7″ display. Both Pro displays can also reach 1200 nit peak brightness.
The phone was quite popular due to its smaller form factor yet boasting the same high-end performance as the iPhone 12 Pro models. It costs $699 and remains available on Apple.com without any significant shipping delays. Moreover, the device was offered in six color options including the recently launched purple color option.
