Intel Xe Dedicated Graphics Development, Hunting Talent In The Industry

Intel Xe Dedicated Graphics

Intel is looking to compete with Nvidia in the graphics space with the Intel Xe dedicated graphics that are going to release in 2020. Intel is now looking to get engineers from the industry whether they are fresh talent or working at AMD or Nvidia. A new Intel Xe dedicated graphics promo video has been released in which Raja Koduri, Senior Vice President and Chief Architect and Intel CEO Bob Swan talked about the development of the architecture and that this is not just a job but a movement.

Intel has been providing integrated graphics solutions for a while not and even though this is not the companies first dedicated graphics solution it is going to be the first to be released for the masses. The following is what Raja Koduri had to say about Intel Xe dedicated graphics:

I want a future where we can have those photorealistic immersive worlds. I want a future where I can have a conversation with somebody three thousand miles away as if they are standing right in front of me. I want to have games with virtual worlds that are as large as this entire universe.

While this might seem like too much to swallow I did like the enthusiast behind the video and that Intel is trying to attract engineers in order to develop Intel Xe dedicated graphics. While the company does have it’s issued and I do not agree with some of its practices, one thing that we can all agree on is that competition is great for the consumer.

While AMD has done a great job in the CPU space, the same cannot be said about the graphics side. AMD Radeon products are great in the mid-range bracket but Nvidia is still on top. Intel might have a better chance at competing with Nvidia at the high-end side.

I never thought I would say this but I hope that Intel does a great job and is able to compete well with Nvidia. I pray that the pricing is not too high and that discrete graphics solutions will be available to the masses. We recently saw a concept of the upcoming Intel Xe graphics card and it looked pretty impressive. Hopefully, the final version is better.
