Intel Has Released the Official Drivers for Iris Xe GPU Featured on its Rocket Lake CPUs

Intel has released the first official drivers for the Iris Xe GPU that is featured in the recently released 11^th Gen Rocket Lake desktop CPUs. The Intel Rocket Lake lineup is the first desktop family to feature the brand-new Iris Xe (Xe-LP) graphics architecture. And a few days after the launch, Intel has released the first official driver for the Iris Xe GPUs.

The update for the Iris Xe GPUs featured on the Rocket Lake CPUs is versioned 27.20.100.9316. The official driver has a download size of 426 MB. An interesting thing to note is that the date for the driver is listed as 3^rd March 2021.

The driver itself is not technically different than the ones already available for Iris Xe GPUs, which are present was previously present in mobile CPUs. Looks like Intel has added support for Rocket Lake CPUs on its existing driver suite. It does make sense considering all Iris Xe chips are essentially based on the same Xe-LP GPU architecture.
