This Moonlight Peaks Mermaid and Luna Bay guide explains how you can meet three mermaids, unlock the hidden area in Luna Bay, and fix the broken bridge that connects it to the rest of the map. This area is unlocked, and you can freely explore it after completing certain missions in Ludo’s story.
How to Meet the Mermaids and Enter Luna Bay
Luna Bay is the hidden area above the Howling Marshes where the 3 mermaids reside in Moonlight Peaks. It can be seen up the road to the region earlier in the game; however, it cannot be used immediately.
You will first need to complete the Curious Passage Quest to get to know the mermaids. This quest was added in Winter of Year One and will be unlocked on the main story and not by friendship with your Ludo. This section of the game can only be played after unlocking Hellkitten Form.
Once you have completed the quest, you will be informed by Ludo about a strange hole that he found in the Howling Marshes; its entrance is located just to the left of the broken bridge. If you’re summoned to investigate, head close to the hole, transform into Hellkitten Form, and enter.
Once you’ve gone through the passage for the first time, you can use Luna Bay whenever you like. You must still pass through the passage using Hellkitten Form, but you need not wait for another quest objective to pass through the passage and return to the area.
At Luna Bay, you will find the three mermaids. Talk to them and write them in your journal to enable you to bestow them gifts one by one. They also start the journey towards earning your own Mermaid Form.
How to Fix the Broken Luna Bay Bridge
It is possible to enter the hidden area from Luna Bay via the broken bridge, but it will need to be repaired before the entire area is linked up with the other areas of Moonlight Peaks.
To fix the broken bridge, you will need to work further on the Ludo and the mermaid storyline. The first thing you need to do is to help remove the tree blocking the river near the farm called Luna’s farm. You can use the spell TK to remove it.
Once you have done this, keep advancing in the mermaid quests and your friendship with Ludo. After some time, you will have the option to reopen Ludo’s Plan quest, which will complete the restoration of the bridge.
To complete the quest, head towards Howling Marshes with Margherita Pizza for Ludo; this will cause a cutscene where Ludo and his father Ridge will fix the broken bridge.
