This Directive 8020 guide details how you can unlock all character destinies in Directive 8020 easily. Each character can have one of two destinies unlocked in a single playthrough. To unlock a specific character’s other destiny, you will need to play through the story again. While playing in Directive 8020, you have to make some choices during your dialogues and important moments, which will decide the Destiny for each character. For every destiny in the game, there are some personality traits connected to it. So choosing supportive, playful, philosophical, or sympathetic responses at the right times will slowly push your character toward specific destinies.

Eisele – The Humanitarian

To unlock “The Humanitarian” Destiny for Eisele, focus on “Sympathetic” traits and avoid acting too “Rationally”.

How to Unlock

When you are playing in “Suspicions,” show a bit of worry for Simms. Later in “Decompression,” appeal to Simms instead of taking another approach. In “Mystery,” the party tells Eisele that she was right to be worried about the situation.

As you move forward in the game, pay your respects to Carter during the “Eulogy”. When you are playing in “Loaded Question”, refuse to accept the firearm, and volunteer during “Backup”. When you are in “In Second Chances,” give the order to Williams to follow, and in “Snap Decision”, choose to help Stafford.

Stafford – The Father

To unlock “The Father” Destiny for Stafford, focus on “Supportive” traits and avoid acting “Resolute”.

How to Unlock

When you are in “Little Faith,” discard Mitchell. During “Mystery,” suggest that Simms may have suffered an episode and later agree with Eisele that her concerns were justified.

In “Terraforming,” ask about Williams, and during “Only Human,” save and protect Anders when the opportunity appears.

Cooper – The Rogue

To unlock “The Rogue” Destiny for Cooper, focus on “Playful” trait choices instead of “Professional” ones.

How to Unlock

Whenever the game gives you the chance to make a joke, take it.  Also, during “Suspicions,” help Anders when the choice appears.

Cernan – The Philosopher

To unlock “The Philosopher” Destiny for Cernan, focus on “Philosophical” traits and avoid the “Focused” ones.

How to Unlock

Whenever you have a chance and a possibility, talk about Cernan’s philosophy and engage in those conversations. These moments are especially important during scenes involving Mitchell.

Young – The Hero

To unlock “The Hero” Destiny for Young, focus on “Loyalty” traits and avoid acting too “Seriously”.

How to Unlock

In “O Death,” make a joke when the option appears. During “The Crown Falls,” plead with Stafford. Later in the story, show your support, solidarity, and sympathy with other characters during “Making the Call,” “Holdout,” and “Why You Started.”
