This World of Warcraft Midnight guide details how you can solo farm gear from the three Dragonflight raids: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible; Vault of the Incarnates; and Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. Running these raids on Mythic difficulty can give you access to multiple versions of the raid sets, while the Catalyst and special Curio vendors can help complete pieces that do not drop directly for your class.
Solo Farm Dragonflight Raids for Transmog – World of Warcraft: Midnight
Below, you will find detailed instructions on how you can farm all three Dragonflight raids solo for farming gear and using them for transmog.
How to Farm Aberrus Transmog
You can begin with Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, which is in the Dragon Isles. Take the portal to the Dragon Isles and fly toward the cave on the western side of the area.
The raid entrance is at the top of the cave, where you can enter the portal to begin the run.
Before you enter, right-click on your health bar and change the raid difficulty to Mythic. It is recommended to select this difficulty, as obtaining the Mythic gear can also unlock the corresponding Heroic, Normal, and Raid Finder appearances. You should also use a damage-focused specialization to make the run faster.
Once you are inside Aberrus, head to the first boss and defeat all the enemies around the area before starting the fight. After defeating and looting the boss, continue through the raid using the left-hand route. This takes you toward the Onyx Laboratory and eventually to the Amalgamation Chamber; this is where you will face the next boss.
Continue upward toward the Molten Crucible by taking the staircase for Forgotten Experiments. You will need to defeat the three bosses in this encounter before moving on. Once all three of them are killed, turn around and use the lower platform to reach the next section. From there, go through the Defiant Ramparts doorway and make your way up the stairs to reach the boss flying around on the phoenix.
Once that boss is defeated, continue into the next room for Rashok the Elder. First, destroy the guardians around him. After you have defeated and looted the boss, use the chain to climb toward the next section, then continue upstairs to the following boss. While you are moving forward, you will face Zskarn. Make sure that you damage him, and eventually he will go down, and you will be able to loot him as well.
From there, head toward the hole which is behind the area where Neltharion is standing and drop down to reach Magmorax. Defeat the worms in the area first, after which the boss will emerge and can be taken down.
Continue through the lava and jump down in the next section that follows, and enter the room for Echo of Neltharion. Defeat the enemies in the room first, then move forward. This encounter is slightly more involved because the boss summons three adds that provide protection. You will need to reach the different sections of the room and go into their chamber to kill them before you can completely focus on the boss.
Once the three adds are dealt with, finish the boss and continue toward the southern end of the raid, which is the Edge of Oblivion, where you will have your final encounter with Sarkareth. This fight is comparatively straightforward for a high-level character.
Keep dealing damage and avoid being knocked from the platform when the boss uses its wind-based attacks. After Sarkareth is defeated, loot the final chest and collect the Void Touched Curio if it drops. This Curio is especially useful for completing your transmog collection.
Once you exit the raid, only keep the gear that your character can actually use. Gear intended for other armor types can be sold, while items such as rings, necklaces, and trinkets can also be removed because they do not provide transmog appearances.
During a full run, you can receive several Warband-bound items that can be sent to characters of other classes. These can provide tier set appearances for the appropriate class. For equipment that your character can use, visit the Catalyst in Thaldraszus and convert eligible pieces into tier set appearances.
If you receive a Void-Touched Curio, take it to Kitala, the Aberrus researcher located near the raid entrance in Zskera Cavern. The vendor offers several set pieces, allowing you to purchase a missing item and fill one of the gaps in your collection.
How to Farm Vault of the Incarnates Transmog
The second raid is Vault of the Incarnates, which is in Thaldraszus. Fly toward the large raid entrance on the eastern side of the area and enter the instance on Mythic difficulty.
To start the raid, interact with the five dragons in the opening area. After doing so, speak with Khadgar and begin the assault. You don’t need to manually complete the assault; you can just now simply allow the short timer to finish instead. Once the timer ends, select the dragon to travel to the next section.
Before fighting the first main boss, defeat the enemy standing in the central area. Once that is done, head to Eranog and defeat him.
The next portion of the raid is split between the left and right routes, and the locked central doorway only becomes available after both sides have been completed. Start with the left side and travel through the Elemental Conclave route. Defeat the enemies along the way and continue until you reach the Primal Council.
After that, move toward Gail Wind Crag and defeat the tornado enemy in the center. An updraft will then appear, which will help you reach Dathea, Ascended. Once you have defeated her, use the nearby wind currents to return to the central area.
Afterwards, take the route to the right to go into the Vault Approach. The fire-blocked path will open after you defeat the guardians that appear. Continue into the Caverns of Infusion and defeat Teros.
Return to the main chamber after this fight. You will find the previously blocked route now open, allowing you to reach Sennarth. Follow the boss upward through the arena as it moves higher. Once the boss is defeated, use the gust of wind to return to the previous section.
From there, continue towards Kurog Grimtotem and defeat him. After both side routes are complete, return to the main room and enter the newly unlocked central doorway toward the Primal Incarnate section.
The next encounter is Broodkeeper Diurna. Focus on the boss and wait through the brief periods when she becomes immune. After dealing with the adds and remaining mechanics, finish the fight and continue to the final boss.
The last encounter is Raszageth. During the fight, you will be sent to one of the side platforms. Defeat the enemies that appear there while avoiding the attacks from the boss, then use the teleport pad to reach the opposite side and clear that group as well. Once both sides have been completed, return to the central platform and finish Raszageth.
After opening the final chest, collect the gear and check the Warband bound pieces for classes other than your own. As with Aberrus, any usable gear can be taken to the Catalyst in Thaldraszus and converted into tier set appearances.
How to Farm Amirdrassil Transmog
The final Dragonflight raid is Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, which is located in the Emerald Dream. Now, if you have already unlocked the Emerald Dream through the campaign, you can use the portal near the Anaran Plains.
But in case you haven’t completed that progression, use the portal in Thaldraszus to reach the Emerald Dream instead.
Once you arrive in the Emerald Dream, travel toward the raid entrance in the upper left portion of the region. Set the raid to Mythic before starting the run. This raid is more difficult than the previous two, so having a level 90 character with suitable gear is recommended.
Begin with Nymue, and the first boss is going to be Gnarlroot. First, clear the enemies around the boss before starting the encounter
After defeating her, continue to the next boss, Igra. Once the boss is defeated, return to the central area where you’ll eventually have to clear both the left and right routes before the middle path opens.
Take the left route first to reach Volcoross. Clear the surrounding enemies and defeat the boss to continue to Larodar, Keeper of the Flame. Activate the seed during this section, then return to the main room.
Afterwards, make your way towards the right-hand doorway, which is the Verdant Terrace and will lead you to the Council of Dreams. Activate the required mechanics and defeat the bosses while keeping their health relatively close together. If you are transformed into a duck, run through the flowers to return to your normal form before continuing the fight.
After the Council, move toward Nymue and deal with the trees blocking the encounter. Interrupt them so they can be defeated, then focus on the boss. Activate the seed afterward to create the portal back to the central chamber.
The middle route will now be accessible and leads toward Smolderon. Activate the mechanism to create a bridge and cross to the boss. Focus on burning him down while avoiding the damaging areas and collecting the required orbs before they reach him.
Continue to the next encounter involving Tindral Sageswift. This fight includes an aerial section where you collect feathers, mount up, and follow the boss through the air. Avoid the beams and collect the green orbs for movement boosts. Make sure you damage the boss before the Supernova mechanic and repeat the process when he takes off again.
After this section, continue through the portal to Fyrakk for the final encounter. Stay toward the center of the platform so the wind does not knock you away, and keep damaging the boss. After defeating Fyrakk, open the final chest and collect the loot. Amirdrassil also has a chance to drop the Nouveau, the Flame’s Guidance mount, although the drop rate is very low.
For Transmog Farming, inspect the Warband-bound pieces after the run and send them to the appropriate alt when necessary. Any usable armor can once again be taken to the Catalyst to create tier set appearances.
You can also find The Flame Warped Curio, which can be used to purchase missing tier set pieces. Take it to the senior researcher located outside the raid entrance near the flight master; her inventory allows you to select the piece you are missing and add it to your collection.
By running all three Dragonflight raids on Mythic, you can build a large collection of class-specific transmog while also using the Catalyst and the Curio vendors to fill in missing appearances. The Warband system is especially useful when the loot you receive belongs to another class, since those pieces can be transferred to an appropriate character instead of being wasted.
