Our Crude Oil Guide for Palworld 1.0 details what is the best place for you to find crude oil, how to set up the most efficient location for you to farm it, and how to start extracting it. Choosing the right location is important, as it will help you collect this resource more efficiently, as it must be gathered through dedicated extractors.
Where to Farm Crude Oil in Palworld 1.0
The most efficient and best place you can farm crude oil is the northwest region of the map near the Sakurajima Watchtower. You’ll see that there are several dark patches that are scattered in the region throughout the landscape. These spots contain Crude Oil nodes, with most locations offering one or two nodes that can be used for extraction.
Some of the farming spots also contain other resources like Coal and Sulfur that you can get as well, and most of the remaining areas contain Stone alongside the Crude Oil nodes, so you can choose a location depending on the resources you want nearby.
Once you have selected a suitable spot, you need to build your base so that you cover both Crude Oil nodes. If you position your base between the two nodes, you can place an extractor on each base, which will make extracting Crude Oil from one location more efficient and easier than from multiple locations.
Extracting Crude Oil
You will also need to unlock the Crude Oil Extractor before you begin extracting Crude Oil. To unlock it, you need to reach Level 50, and it requires 250 Palmetal Ingots and 50 Circuit Boards to craft it.
When you have crafted the extractor, place it on top of the Crude Oil node and make sure that you connect it to a power source, as the machine requires electricity to operate. You can use either a Running Wheel or Pylon to supply the electricity. Even if your Pals produce a small amount of electricity, the extractor will still begin generating Crude Oil over time.
The same process needs to be repeated for the second Crude Oil node if you have two locations covered with your base. This way, both your extractors are working simultaneously, which increases your production.
Previously, you could place two extractors on one node to extract the Oil, but that no longer works.
When your base is running, the Crude Oil produced may automatically be collected by your pals and stored in a nearby chest. Because of this, it’s a good idea to place a storage chest close to the extractors so the collected resources have somewhere to go.
