Before you go on to solve this puzzle, make sure you have unlocked the required traversal ability through the Fault in the Evacuation Zone. Without it, you won’t be able to reach the taxi’s location. Once the ability is available, head to the marked spot in Downtown and enter the parked taxi to begin the puzzle.
After arriving in the strange version of Manhattan, look behind the building near the hotel signs for a ringing payphone. Follow the sound, interact with the phone, and finish the conversation.
When the call ends, return to the taxis on the street. You have to identify the unusual vehicle in each of the three rounds.
First Round
Look across the row of taxis and compare the lights on their roofs. In this first round, only one taxi has its roof light switched on, while every other vehicle has its light off. Enter the taxi with the illuminated roof light to proceed to the next round.
Second Round
For the second stage, all the taxis initially have their roof lights on. As you approach the vehicles, their lights begin switching off. Watch carefully to see which taxi behaves differently. Most of the lights will turn off when you get close, but one remains illuminated. Select that taxi and get inside to continue.
Third Round
The final round works differently. At the beginning, all the taxi lights are off, so you have to check how they react as you approach each vehicle.
Move towards a taxi and observe the other cars. When you approach the correct vehicle, another taxi will light up. The key is to find the car that causes this change when you approach the other taxis but doesn’t trigger the same effect when you approach it yourself.
