Giants Software has announced that competitive farming is getting a major update with Season 5 of the official Farming Simulator League coming to Farming Simulator 22. The eSports league was first introduced in the franchise back in Farming Simulator 19 and now FSL is continuing with its implementation in Farming Simulator 22. A free game update will arrive for Farming Simulator 22 in June 2023 which will add the eSports section in the main menu of the game and from there, interested players will be able to join in the league. For the first time ever, the FSL is also coming to consoles along with PC players. Christian Ammann, CEO of GIANTS Software comments:
We’re happy to announce the integration of console players to our esports league. This marks another milestone in the history of our successful endeavors to make virtual farming not only competitive and fun, but professional and inspiring.
Season 5 of FSL is due to kick off with FarmCon on July 1 to July 2, 2023, where all Farming Simulator players will be able to battle with their friends and other players in the Arena Mode. The mode will be added to the game once the new update lands in June and to demonstrate your skills, you can then join the FSL to challenge professional teams. For Season 5, HELM AG is the new main sponsor for the eSports event. HELM AG is a family-run and long-established agricultural company from Hamburg, Germany.
It is active in more than 30 countries and was introduced to the Farming Simulator franchise back in 2022 with in-game fertilizer and crop protection products. The prize pool of Season 5 is worth 200,000 Euros and it will attract new as well as existing teams to compete in competitive agriculture in the new Arena Mode. The season consists of offline and online tournaments, both serving as qualifiers for the World Championship at the end of the season.
The open beta is now available on PC and by selecting the beta branch of the game manually, PC players can now join an open beta and give the new competitive farming a try before its official launch in June 2023. This pre-release version will give you access to two game mods including Bale Stacking for up to six players. The new Arena mode is an improved version of the former FSL client where two teams of up to three players compete to harvest wheat, press bales, and deliver them to their own barn as quickly as possible.
Farming Simulator 22 is currently available on PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One. For additional information about the FSL, you can check out the official website of the game. Previously, GIANTS Software showcased the first gameplay trailer for Farming Simulator 23 ahead of its release on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Farming Simulator 22 received the Valtra Q Series tractors in a free update and the game managed to sell 1.5 million copies in its first week after going on sale.
