Last week’s UKIE/GfK Top Ten report is in and it seems like both Far Cry New Dawn and Metro Exodus did pretty well in their launch sales. Far Cry is sitting at number 1 spot and Metro Exodus at number 2 spot according to the UK physical sales report.
Last week was a very competitive week as five major AAA titles were released. These include Jump Force, Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus, Crackdown 3 and Anthem’s Early Access. We cannot really count Anthem in at this point because this report is only for the physical sales.
According to the report, the list has three new games which Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus and Jump Force. Jump Force is sitting on the number 4 spot for its launch week under Red Dead Redemption 2 which is sitting on number 3 spot.
It was natural for these titles to come in the top 10 list however Far Cry New Dawn might be sitting at the top spot, it is still 86.5 percent less than Far Cry 5’s launch week. Even when compared to Far Cry Primal, which was a spin-off title just like New Dawn, its sales are still lower which is not something Ubisoft would be too happy about.
Metro Exodus on the other hand might be sitting at the second spot in the physical game sold report but actually its sales are 50 percent higher than its previous title Metro Last Light which came out in 2010. This is promising news for 4A Games and Deep Silver and it makes it look much better than Far Cry New Dawn
Another new title this week is Jump Force. Despite somewhat average reviews, Jump Force is off to a very strong start as it managed to beat many heavy hitters and managed to push its way to the number 4 spot on this list. Check out the list below for all titles that managed to secure a position in the top 10 list.
- Far Cry: New Dawn
- Metro: Exodus
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Jump Force
- FIFA 19
- Resident Evil II
- New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
- Kingdom Hearts III
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
As you can see last month’s Resident Evil II and Kingdom Hearts III are still managing to hold a spot in this list. GTA V failed to keep up with all latest titles and has gone down in the list for this list. Other games include Black Ops 4 and FIFA 19 still holding a spot.
We still have two Nintendo Switch exclusives New Super Mario Bros Deluxe and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe in this list at number 7 and number 9 spots respectively. The most disappointing release of this year so far seems to be Microsoft’s Crackdown 3 which is down on the number thirteenth spot.
It even failed to meet the target of 2010’s Crackdown 2 which is a big disappointment. However, Crackdown 3 is free with Xbox Game Pass right from the launch which can be a big reason behind the very slow sale of physical versions in UK. Overall, the game is also getting below average reviews so we are sure that the title is not too good overall even if it is free on Xbox Games Pass.
