Bethesda Flattens Rumors of Fallout 76 Going Free-To-Play

Fallout 76 2020 Roadmap

In a tweet response, Bethesda has denied all rumors that Fallout 76 is going free-to-play. In a response to fan’s tweet, Bethesda firmly states that this is not going to happen.

We are all aware of Fallout 76 and Bethesda’s trouble with the game ever since it was released. Recently someone spread the rumor that Fallout 76 is going to be a free-to-play title in this month. Fans of the series were furious and asked Bethesda if this was true or not.

A fan named xGTExDopey tweeted to Bethesda saying

If Fallout 76 goes Free-to-Play, I want my money back. Straight up. 500 Atoms ain’t gonna cut it this time. As a diehard fan, there’d be no coming back to that slap in the face.

Bethesda took little time and responded with this

There is no truth to this rumor.

This clearly shows Bethesda’s notion on this and we can now be sure that Fallout 76 is not going free anytime soon. It is not rare for online only games being free-to-play these days and still earning a lot of money.

We have examples of Fortnite and Warframe in place where both titles are free to play yet they have massive fanbase around the globe. After what troubles Bethesda had in launch of Fallout 76, it would be unfair with the fans who paid $60 for the game and the game goes free just two months after release.

Many fans of the series are also calling Fallout 76 as simply Fallout 4 with online support while some fans are even comparing Fallout 76 with earlier versions as Fallout 76 lacks in certain visual details than Fallout 4 specially the nuclear explosions.

Earlier Bethesda had announced two major updates for Fallout 76 out of which the first update is now live and the second update will be released soon as well. These updates are heavily inspired by all the fan feedback and Bethesda is trying to make Fallout 76 stable and better with them.

Also all players who played Fallout 76 before 2018 ended are also entitled for a free copy of Fallout Classic Collection which contains three Fallout games. Make sure to check out our complete Fallout 76 coverage which includes different guides to help you play the game.

Fallout 76 is now out on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
